<h3><em>Masters worlds to be held in Kentucky in 2012</em></h3>The cyclocross world championships will be held in the United States for the first time in 2013, when Louisville, Kentucky, hosts the January event. As a trial run of sorts, the UCI will run the masters ’cross worlds in Louisville in 2012 and then again in 2013 in the days before the elite event.<br />

The group behind the U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross is responsible for bringing worlds to the U.S.<br />

EVCCX-Monster will be a team comprised of riders focusing on local and regional cyclocross events. This team will a modified blue and orange team uniform and be completely supported by the Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club.<br />

With the creation of this team, Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club announces its intent to support the development and growth of cyclocross riders and events.<br />

"Cyclocross is the future of cycling," said Jon Downey of Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club. "It is exciting and spectator-friendly making it a great venue for promoting cycling to an audience of non-cyclists." <br />
<br />
There are riders who have already committed to riding for EVCCX-Monster but with another team on the road. This is acceptable and encouraged as long as the other team approves the move. <br />
<br />
As members of Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club, EVCCX-Monster members will receive all benefits of the club including discounts and Cleveland Bike and Sport in Norfolk and The Bike Rack of Omaha and Lincoln during the CX season or for CX gear and equipment. Team riders receive incentives for podium finishes and year end awards in cyclocross events. <br />
<br />
The Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club is based in Norfolk, Nebraska. Its mission is to promote cycling of all types via participation, competition, and guidance.
